MedStar Health Innovation in Motion Laboratory

MedStar Union Memorial Hospital · Baltimore, MD · Opened 2025

Project management and construction delivery for the 2,700 sq ft Innovation in Motion (iMo) Lab, one lab within MedStar's broader Musculoskeletal Research and Innovation Center. The facility quantifies human movement patterns to advance biomechanics, rehabilitation, athletic training, and neuroscience research, supporting work on balance, locomotion, diagnostic tools for movement disorders, and interventions to restore mobility.

Build scope integrated the GRAIL motion-capture treadmill, 12-camera Vicon and Xsens systems, 16-channel EMG sensors, force platforms, isokinetic dynamometer, VR projection environment, and an overhead fall-protection track, all coordinated through an active hospital campus. Lloyd led project management and trade-contractor coordination through delivery.
